This list is legitimately more terrifying than any horror novel I’ve read

It's not healthy to feed people with a bunch of propaganda. A lot in this list are very rare stuff or over dramatized. Scare mongering is not a way to go. Especially when it's about the most natural thing there is.

It's not necessarily that it's common, or "unserious," it's a reason not to. Just because it's not common doesn't mean it can't happen to you; i.e. why RISK it happening to you.

Women deserve to know the medical conditions they sign up for.

This is not propaganda. These are very real possibilities.

hey, you got a source for these? i mean having something serious like episiotomies (a very serious procedure that all pregnant people should be aware of - even though a c-section is almost *always* considered first) on the same list as "your labia can fly off" (no it can't, it really, truly cannot) is so dangerous; it puts them on the same level and comparing the two is just so dangerous, please edit this list properly, with citations and FACTS: not anecdotes and playground rumours. Otherwise this is truly dangerous, it's reminiscent of right-wing fear-mongering. My creds - OB-GYN doctor, past 3 years.

She never said this was a list of pregnancy science and facts you dingus doctor. It's a list of why NOT to get pregnant, I can promise you everything she put on that list will help me NOT get pregnant. She can put on that list "a baby can eat it's way out of your vagina" (obviously not true) and I'll be like "yeaaah ANOTHER reason." If a women wants to have a baby she will. It's been a known facts for women/ladies/girls since the beginning of time that you can DIE at child birth, even most men and boys know that fact. In my head I'm risking life or death if I get pregnant, so reading a few tall-tales about other minor dangers that may happen to me in the process is just another mental bonus to keep me from doing it. I don't want to risk my life for a baby, and baby fever makes women forget that they don't want to die giving birth to a tiny cute creature, so having this dramatic list is a nice reminder to keep myself calm and demure. "This can mislead some mothers or teenagers." You're an OBGYN, go to schools and hospitals to share your knowledge then. Make it common knowledge. She isn't aiming this at anyone. She hasn't gone out of her way to shove this in peoples faces. She's posted it on HER page and website. Some of the lines on the list are even very obviously opinions!! And last but not least she has never said ANYTHING politcal, never said anything about the government or laws. DO NOT make this post about politics. This is about womens bodies. "Right-wing-fear mongering" tf.... did she say in this list that she was a demo or a repub?? No. So stop making her opinons political. Would it make you feel better it she make it more understandable to you narrow minded people by titling it "the tall-tales and horrors spoken by mothers".?.?

just wanted to say that episiotomy is obstetric violence and shouldn’t happen at all (even though it does)

I saw a TikTok video with you talking about the list and made me think about my own personal list of why I really don't want children.... Then I was able to get a bisalp... In a way I want to thank you... Nobody knows the reason behind my surgery... But it started with your list!

Pregnancy: I had symphysis pubis dysfunction where my pelvis started coming apart. I had to crawl round the house on all fours until I got some crutches. Also had gestational diabetes which was hell.
